Spartan Stadion 2024

We are Spartans! What a race to remember! Citi Field held its annual Spartan Race. This one was the Spartan Stadion, which was an epic 5K, 20 obstacle course challange! As soon as we arrived to CitiField, one can feel the electrifying energy of the participants. Individuals of all ages and sizes filled the check in point. The nerves were high but the months of preparation had my team and I ready for war. We all lined up at the starting point. As we waited for our first sprint, the announcer did a great job hyping all of us up right before the blow of the horn, then it was action. I wont ruin the surprise for anyone looking to do the race next year , but I will share some highlights of some of the obstacles that were a bit challenging. Starting with the sand bag carries! This obstacle course was very early in the race and for good reason. I started out carrying a 70Lb sand bag over my shoulders and around the entire citi feild stadium. Up the bleachers, down the bleachers, and across the stadium. Oh I forgot to mention it was 90+ degrees that day. So you can imagine how I was feeling. Back to the story, Up the bleachers, down the bleachers for over 5 minutes. There were times were I had to alternate the sand bag from shoulder to shoulder. When I finally reached the end of this tiring obstacle, I immediately threw it off my shoulders and continued moving forward. There were water stations avaliable after every obstacle course. It was more satisfying throwing the water on me then drinking it because it was extremely hot! We had a motto, no soldier left behind, so we made it a responsibility to make sure that every one on our teammates kept moving foward and most importantly not give up! Next challange was the bear crawls up three straight ramps in the stadium. Not only did I have to push myself to get through this one, I made sure I kept going to inspire my teammates to do the same. My shoulders were done after that point and my body was full of sweat and dirt, but I prevailed and so did my teammates. Last obstacle that gave everyone a run for their money, the rope climb! This was on the feild of the stadium. What made it most challenging for me was not climbing it, but coming down. Let’s just say my right hand paid the price. Rope burns everywhere. They don't call it the Spartan race for no reason.

Now I want to give a special out to my amazing girlfriend for supporting everything I do and most importantly being by my side that day through it all, even in 90+ degree weather. A huge huge shout out to my three clients , Fernando, Shanell and Dailiany. You guys trained for months in preparation for this race, and despite the sweat and tears, you guys not only proved something to me, but you proved to yourselves that you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it! I am so proud of you three and so happy to be your trainer! Shout out to my entire team who supported one another collectively, we did that! We created a great memory together! Spartan race 2024 is under our belts and we have the medal to prove that! Looking forward to next years Race!
